Shahid Malik is an expert communicator and presenter with extensive international experience. He served as a Lahore-based BBC Correspondent from 1994 to 2007 and now works as a broadcasting trainer and reports from the region for various local and overseas radio and TV channels.

Before joining the BBC in the UK in 1984 as a journalist, Shahid lectured at Allama Iqbal Open University, Government College Lahore and Gordon College Rawalpindi. For a while, he was Academic Adviser to the Federal Minister for Education.

Led by his pedagogic instinct, at BBC radio, he initiated bilingual 'English by Radio' series, a weekend 'Question and Answer' program, weekly cultural sequence 'Sub Ras' and 'the Science Club.'

As a linguist, he has served at the British High Commission in Islamabad, the UK Central Office of Information and other government agencies including law courts.

Shahid Malik has a Masters in English Literature and a degree in Law, along with a postgraduate diploma in ESFL from Wales. He is a member of the London-based Chartered Institute of Linguists.
